Meet Our Interim Executive Director: Cashmere Bentley
We’re thrilled to announce that, beginning today, July 1, Cashmere Bentley will step into the role of Interim Executive Director at StepUp Durham! Cashmere has been a driving force behind our mission, and we’re excited for the vision and heart she will bring to this next chapter.

A: I first came to StepUp during the COVID pandemic as a participant, seeking support with my job search and career advancement. I took part in Jobs Week, and by the end of the week, I felt deeply motivated and inspired. It became clear to me that this was a team and an organization I wanted to be part of. I was fortunate to join StepUp as an apprentice, and from there, I’ve continued to grow within the organization. StepUp’s mission and values are closely aligned with my own, and I’m truly honored to be part of a team that is making a real difference in our community.

A: I studied abroad for a month in Spain for a month in high school and studied at the University of Salamanca.
