At this year’s IMPACT25 event, we were honored to present the Step2/StepUp Kidz Award to the Taybron family, LaWanda, Pierre, and their four brilliant daughters: Gabriel, Maddison, Isabelle, and Christina. Their story is one of resilience, sacrifice, and fierce love. When their daughter was diagnosed with cancer, LaWanda stepped away from her nursing career to care for her. Pierre picked up overnight shifts and still made it to Step2 classes. With no car, they relied on the support of others and still never missed a day.

Thanks to your support, the Taybrons received a car through Wheels for Hope. Pierre is now on track to graduate Step2. Their journey reminds us that when families are supported, communities are transformed.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when their story was shared. Now, we want to make more stories like theirs possible.
