Karima Noorzada

Karima

Karima is an inspiring educator with 25+ years of experience teaching second languages and empowering students through education.

Even under dangerous conditions in Afghanistan, she continued teaching because of her deep belief in the power of learning, holding classes at Kabul Emergency Hospital during Taliban control and later in her own home when the hospital was shut down.

Karima holds multiple teaching certifications, including UNESCO’s Modern Teaching Methodology, and has trained internationally in Korea, Japan, and at the American University of Kabul. She’s fluent in Dari and English and has a gift for creating engaging, culturally responsive lessons.

Beyond the classroom, she’s supported her community through initiatives like World Food, helping Afghan widows provide for their families. And if that wasn’t enough, she’s also an incredible cook of Middle Eastern cuisine, and would give her great delight to share her talents cooking a local restaurant in Durham!

Her next employer would be lucky to have such a dedicated, skilled, and inspiring educator, and cook
