Nancy Rosales’ Journey

Nancy’s' journey has been a testament to stepping outside comfort zones, embracing opportunities, and believing that it's never too late to pursue something new. As a single mother, balancing motherhood, school, and finances has been challenging. Her daughter remains one of her greatest motivations to keep moving forward.

Nancy returned to Durham Technical Community College, earning her Associate in Science degree in Spring 2026 and her BioWork Certification in Summer 2026. Her hands-on laboratory experience at Biogen strengthened her passion for science and research. She is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology at North Carolina Central University.

Through StepUp Durham, Nancy gained valuable skills in resume building, interview preparation, job searching, and connecting with community resources. Most importantly, the program reminded her how powerful it is to have someone believe in your potential.

Grateful for her daughter, instructors, coach Kevin, and everyone who has supported her along the way, Nancy is excited for what lies ahead and the opportunity to make a difference in her community.
