After starting with StepUp,  Corey was hired as a BUILD Apprenticeship, working at ReCity as a maintenance worker.  He is quick to see what needs to be done and takes the initiative.

Durham program providing stipend to ex-offenders sees success

Nonprofit StepUp Durham provided data on how its guaranteed basic income program doing since launching in March.

Karima is an inspiring educator with 25+ years of experience teaching second languages and empowering students through education.

Tyler Brackfield is one of the participants who was selected for the program. While Brackfield said he is on the right track now as he is working for a company that specializes in electrical automation, he said it wasn’t always been this way.

“I enjoy having the opportunity to meet individuals from different backgrounds facing similar challenges as myself. It feels good to know that I’m not alone.”
